Both of his parents trained him in combat when he was growing up, and he is the first true Arcane Warrior in Thedas since his mother learned about them in the Brecilian Forest. The warrior armor actually works for him, though.

The reason for that is I did the concept for Fenris and Hawke's son first, and didn't want to have to replay the entire intro again for a third time just so he could be wearing the starting armor for mages.

It looks a bit darker here because of the lighting in the character creator (as you'll also see in the pictures of Hawke and Fenris' daughter).ĭuncan is technically a mage, but he's seen here in warrior armor. It's his Uncle Zev's (modded) hairstyle! Duncan's hair is a light golden-brown color. As you can see, he does indeed have the same silve-grey eyes as his mother. he was pretty fugly in DA2, but it gave me the basic shape so that his son would at least bear a resemblance to him. I started with Alistair's face as the base. So I loaded up DA2, played through the intro, and whipped one up in the character creation screen. Since Duncan - Varia and Alistair's son - has now made his debut in my stories as both a child and an adult, I decided it was probably time I came up with a somewhat official concept for him.
